Day 1: Hanoi-Cat Ba island
Leave Hanoi for Halong, a four-hour drive 160km to the east of the capital. Transfer to a private boat of arrival for a cruise among the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands that rise from the emerald green waters of Halong Bay. A fresh seafood lunch is served on board. The cruise ends at Cat Ba Island, the largest in the bay, where the first night is spent either in a guesthouse, or weather permitting, camping on the beach. Overnight in Cat Ba.
Day 2: Cat Ba-Nam Cat Beach
The first full day of kayaking in this magnificent bay involves paddling from Cat Ba to Nam Cat Beach approximately two hours away. There are many caves and lagoons to be explored in the area of Nam Cat before returning to the beach to set up camp for the night, again weather permitting. Overnight on Nam Cat Beach.



Day 3: Nam Cat Beach-Haiphong-Hanoi
Break camp after breakfast and load the camping equipment on to the support vessel before kayaking back to Cat Ba Island for lunch and a little more exploration. Late in the afternoon board the hydrofoil for the one-hour journey to the port city of Haiphong from where it is a two-hour drive back to Hanoi.
